Mi historia familiar está muy vinculada a la costura; mi abuela era modista y su espíritu está presente en su vieja Singer de pedal; mi tía aprendió en el colegio a coser y es una gran bordadora, y mi madre es una enamorada del punto de cruz, que es la forma más ornamental de seguir esta tradición. Otro elemento fundamental en la historia de mi familia son las flores que han sido tema central de nuestras creaciones. Con la serie Bordar Flores quiero homenajear a las mujeres de mi familia. Estas mujeres son reflejo de todas las generaciones de mujeres que han estado vinculadas a la costura de alguna manera y por lo tanto comparten la sensibilidad que dan el hilo y la aguja.

To embroider flowers

My family´s history is very much linked to sewing; my grandmother was a great dressmaker and her spirit lives today on her old Singer; my aunt learned to sew at school and she is a great embroiderer; and my mother loves to knit. Flowers are another fundamental element in my family´s history having been a central theme of our creations. I want to homage women of my family with the work to embroider flowers. These women are a reflection of generations of women who have been connected to sewing in any form and share the sensibility gained by thread and needle.

Die Geschichte meiner Familie ist eng mit dem Nähen verbunden; meine Großmutter war eine hervorragende Schneiderin, und ihr Geist lebt in ihrer alten Singer-Nähmaschine fort; meine Tante hat in der Schule das Nähen gelernt und ist heute eine grossartige Stickerin, und meine Mutter ist verliebt in Kreuzsticken, den ornamentalsten Weg um diese Tradition fortzusetzen. Ein weiteres grundlegendes Element in meiner Familiengeschichte sind die Blumen, die ein zentrales Thema unsere Kreationen sind.
